Harish Ojha

Harish Ojha’s works reflect his upbringing in rural agrarian Uttar Pradesh. He uses cotton paper which is organic and flexible as his primary medium. He tears the fine upper layer of the surface which he then rolls and uses to create his art works which according to him reflects the magic of life being created from the ‘mute earth.’ These tactile paintings merge cultural, artistic and agricultural philosophy and generate strong visuals of rural India which he feels is the soul of this country. Harish’s individual style has achieved a synthesis of tradition and modern that floats between representational and abstract.
